I’m Kaisa Mäkäräinen, Finnish biathlete.
I have been into winter sports since I was a kid. I did cross-country skiing until I was twenty. Then I found also a rifle and changed my sport to biathlon – the best winter sport. I started my international career in the next winter and I did my first World Championships in Austria, Hochfilzen 2005. My biggest results are World Champion title in pursuit and silver medal in sprint 2011. In the same year I also won the total World Cup crystal globe as well as small crystal globe in overall pursuit cup. 2012 I got WCH bronze medal in mass start, finishing season 4th place in total world cup. In World Cup I have won 4 races, being second 12 times and third 10 times.
In January 2012 I was chosen to the best athlete in Finland in the year 2011.

The new racing season 2012-2013 has already started. I hope you are as ready as I am to focus on busy winter on different courses and ranges all around Europe. This season we’ll get a look also to Sochi, 2014 Olympic City.
